About the Pastor

A man with great vision and immense integrity, he leads with a spirit of excellence, always giving God his very best. He has been teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ for more than twenty years. Anointed and prophetic, is just a glimpse into what this powerful man of God brings to a world. Pastor Swinney’s resume is robust, and his territory is enlarging. He is president of Michael Swinney Ministries, Inc. and the author of two books, The Heart of Barnabas Morning Inspirations and Bedtime Sedatives and Insanity in the Asylum Called Faith-Vision. He is a licensed biblical counselor and provides counseling in the areas of substance abuse, pre-marital, marriage and family, and individual resilience counseling. After many years of counseling fatherless women, in 2014 he established “Daddy’s Little Girls: Overcoming Abandonment and Embracing Your Identity in Christ”.

A veteran of the Armed Forces and a retired public employee, he continues to fulfill his purpose. Pastor Swinney is a member of Abundant Harvest Fellowship of Pastors, an affiliate of Bethany Baptist Church, under the leadership of the honorable Bishop David G. Evans.

He has been married to Lady Verna Swinney for 24 years. They have four children and thirteen grandchildren.

Lady Verna Swinney is an anointed woman of God. Grace is just one word to describe her many attributes, but more importantly she loves The Lord. She is a true testament of abounding grace, service, wisdom, and knowledge. She is selfless and has devoted her life to serving others.

Answering the call to impact the lives of the youth in her community, has equipped Lady Swinney to empower and educate adults and youth through literacy classes. Her vision to teach started at a very young age and now she walks in the reality of that vision. A resident of Camden County, her desire and ability to help any student, regardless of the obstacles they face, has made a difference in the lives of many. As a gifted educator, she has implemented many unique techniques to educate students and creates a learning environment full of fun and excitement! Her ultimate goal is ensuring every child feels capable of attaining every goal.
